凱迪克大獎(The Caldecott Medal)

凱迪克大獎是由美國圖書館學會（American Library Association - ALA）於1938年創立的獎項。該獎項是為紀念十九世紀英國的繪本插畫家倫道夫‧ 凱迪克（Randolph Caldecott）而設立，凱迪克大獎是美國最具權威的繪本獎，得獎作品皆是舉世公認的上乘傑作。每年由美國圖書館學會(ALA)邀請教育學者、專業人士和圖書館員，組成評審委員會，從當年度出版的數萬本書籍中，選出一名首獎和二至三名傑作，頒贈凱迪克金牌獎和銀牌獎，在得獎圖書的封面上皆會貼上印有凱迪克著名插畫「騎馬的約翰」的獎牌，金色代表金牌獎，銀色代表銀牌獎。凱迪克大獎評選標準的周延與創新及著重作品的藝術價值、特殊創意，使該獎項能成為美國最具權威性的繪本獎。
